Course Overview:

This comprehensive three-week course is designed to provide students with foundational skills in tiling and flooring. Students will learn about essential tools and materials, surface preparation, and measuring and cutting tiles. The course will cover practical skills such as tile installation techniques, grouting, and finishing, as well as an introduction to different flooring materials and installation methods. Safety practices in tiling and flooring will also be emphasized to ensure a secure working environment.

Week 1: Introduction and Preparation

• Introduction to Tiling Tools and Materials
  • Overview of common tiling tools and their uses.
  • Understanding different types of tiles and materials used in tiling.
• Surface Preparation for Tiling
  • Techniques for preparing various surfaces for tiling.
  • Cleaning, leveling, and priming surfaces to ensure a smooth installation.
• Measuring and Cutting Tiles
  • Basics of measuring and marking tiles for cutting.
  • Using tile cutters and other tools to achieve precise cuts.

Week 2: Installation Techniques

• Tile Installation Techniques
  • Techniques for laying out and installing tiles.
  • Ensuring proper alignment and spacing for a professional finish.
• Grouting and Finishing
  • Methods for applying grout and finishing tile installations.
  • Cleaning and sealing tiles to ensure durability.

Week 3: Flooring and Safety

• Introduction to Flooring Materials
  • Overview of common flooring materials and their applications.
  • Understanding the properties of different flooring types.
• Installing Different Types of Flooring
  • Techniques for installing various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, and vinyl.

Training Time:

• Duration: 3 weeks
• Daily Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of construction concepts is beneficial but not required.
